This influencer thought their 10k followers = free food. The owner made sure everyone saw them pay.

This happened at my buddy’s diner. Small spot, nothing fancy but locals love it.

Some so-called food influencer rolls in. Maybe 10k followers. Acting like they’re a celeb.

They come in loud with a big camera and lights. Like they’re shooting a show or something.

Without looking at the menu they say:

“I won’t be paying today. I’ll promote you. Free meal for exposure.”

My buddy, chill as ever, goes:

“Nah, we don’t do that. You can pay like everyone else.”

The influencer looks stunned. Like how dare he say no.

They get louder, talking about what a huge oppurtunity this is.

People at other tables start watching. A few smirk. One guy laughed into his coffee.

My buddy just smiles and says:

“We’re busy enough. What do you want to order?”

The influencer gets the priciest stuff. Hoping my buddy will cave.

Nope.

When they’re done, my buddy puts the check right at the edge of the table. Everyone can see it.

The influencer tries one last time:

“You sure about this?”

My buddy goes:

“Positive.”

They pay (No tip ofc)

Later they post a moody pic of the food. No tag for the diner.

Whole thing was kinda sad but also funny.

The person sitting behind me on an overnight flight told me I was reclining my seat 'too far back.'

I tried to recline my seat and it popped back upright, I tried again and realized the lady behind me was shoving my seat forward. I tried again and she yelled at me that I couldnt recline my seat.

I was very shaken up by the interaction so I just stayed upright for like 10 minutes until I could see a flight attendant nearby. I was able to quickly recline and have my chair click into place so she couldn't shove it forward. She raised her voice at me again and I told her everyone on the whole plane gets to recline their seat. She said I was reclining too far back though... I told her my seat was in the same position as the person sitting in front of me and kind of held my hands up at her through the little gap between the seats and then sat back. She didn't try to talk to me again.

The whole thing made me so uncomfortable. I wish I had gotten an attendant to help me instead of interacting with her directly. I can't believe this happened irl, the whole time i was thinking it sounded like a reddit story

Stranger at the café asked me to moved tables because she liked my seat better

I was at this little café earlier, just enjoying some quiet time by the window. I had my drink, my book, and honestly, I was feeling pretty relaxed. Then this woman walks up to me and says, super casually, “Would you mind moving? I like this seat.” I thought she was kidding. I laughed a little and waited for the punchline… but nope. She meant it. I told her I’d just sat down and was planning to stay a while, and she looked at me like I’d insulted her or something. No “oh, no worries” or anything just a glare and a dramatic sigh as she walked off. I don’t know, maybe I’m being sensitive, but it just felt weird. Like, since when do people feel that entitled to ask total strangers to give up their seat just because they like the view?

Ladies at Restaurant wanted Wife and I’s Table

A few years back I was at a sushi restaurant with my wife. We had gotten seated at a table near the back corner of the restaurant next to the bar, and were eating appetizers and had our drinks.

In walked two women who were seated by the host a few tables in front of us. After complaining to each other about a “draft”, one asked the other woman if she would rather sit where my wife and I were sitting. A few minutes later they called over the waitress and let her know that my wife and I needed to be moved because they wanted to sit where we were sitting. (Mind you, this was not even a busy time of day, most tables were open and they could’ve asked to be moved to any other open table)

The waitress was very confused and obviously put a stop to that quickly, the women were clearly upset about this the rest of the time before we left. To this day I still can’t believe the entitlement

Entitled shopper demands I put the watermelons back “Where I found them”

I work at a grocery store and was recently asked to reorganize a display of watermelons. It was a mess, people had been digging through them all day. As I’m restacking, this woman in her 50s storms up and starts yanking melons out from my neat pile.

Then she looks at me, sees I’m stacking more, and says:

“Put those down. I want to look through the new ones first.”

I said, “You’re welcome to wait while I finish, then look through them.” She rolled her eyes and said, “No, I want the ones you haven’t touched yet. I don’t want your germs.”

Mind you, I’m literally wearing gloves. I say, “Ma’am, all the melons come off the same truck. There’s no secret pile of cleaner ones.”

She goes, “Then put the ones you touched BACK where they were. I don’t want them mixed in.”

I deadpan stared at her for 5 seconds before going: “Okay,” and dropped the melon straight into the bottom of the bin with an audible thud.

She gasped. “You just bruised it!”

I smiled and said, “Oh no. Better not pick that one, then.” And walked away.

Coworker freaked out because I wouldn’t cover their mistake for the third time.

I work in an office where we submit reports for review. One coworker keeps rushing theirs and messing up the numbers. I’ve fixed it for them twice so they wouldn’t get in trouble.

This week they did it again. Same sloppy mistakes, same last-minute panic. They came over acting like it was just understood I’d clean it up.

I told them, “I really can’t this time. I have my own work to finish.”

They absolutely lost it. Said I was being petty, that I wasn’t a team player, and tried to guilt me about how stressed they were.

I just said, “It’s your report. You’ve got this.”

They stormed off. Somehow, I survived without covering for them.
