The story of Maria is just one example of how United Help Ukraine’s mental health projects are transforming lives. 💛💙 After losing her husband in the war and caring for a child with a lifelong disability, Maria was overwhelmed with grief and uncertainty. With the help of a psychologist trained through Problem Management Plus (PM⁺), she received the support she needed to begin healing and rebuild her life. PM+ is a part of UHU’s Reboot Initiative under our Medical Aid Program that helps Ukrainians recover psychologically and emotionally from the trauma of war. Certified by the World Health Organization, the project is carried out with the support of the national mental health initiative “How Are You?”(endorsed by Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska) and the Coordination Center of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Through REBOOT, UHU strengthens community-based care by training mental health professionals and expanding access to critical support services across Ukraine. Projects like PM⁺ are vital to helping Ukrainians cope with loss, displacement, and the lasting effects of war. Yesterday, a warm welcome event was held at the SMUHA space, where children and their parents got to meet the professionals of our new center. There were smiles, introductions, and shared activities for both kids and adults.
