Here’s a step-by-step guide to a winning influencer marketing campaign:
Step 1: Access Influencer Analytics
Log in to your Semrush account, hover over Social in the left-hand navigation bar, and click Influencer Analytics.
Click Get started. Depending on your subscription status, you may be redirected to the sign-up page.
Step 2: Search for Influencers
Start by entering a keyword related to your niche.
Click Search to generate a list of influencers in that category.
You can then narrow down your search by applying filters, including:
- The influencer's location
- Language
- Audience size
- Demographic
- Performance factors
- Budget for sponsored content
Use these filters to find creators that best match your goals.
You can also switch between social media channels by clicking the platform of your choice at the top of the screen.
Step 3: Explore Influencer Performance Metrics
Select an influencer’s profile to access their performance metrics and audience insights.
A widget at the top displays the following metrics:
- Total subscribers
- Number of published videos
- Average views per video
- Engagement rate
- Estimated sponsored content
You’ll also see an Engagement breakdown, with metrics including:
- Likes per 1,000 views
- Comments per 10,000 views
- Views per subscriber
Each profile includes a channel quality score to help you quickly assess overall engagement and consistency.
Scroll down to view Historical growth trends—including total and new subscriber count and channel views over time. This will help you to assess an influencer’s audience growth and performance consistency.
The creator’s Audience demographics are broken down visually by language and gender, giving you deeper insights into their follower base.
The Content section is where you can analyze the creator’s latest videos. Switch between Latest and Most viewed, and apply filters or search by keyword to see how their content strategy might align with your campaign goals.
Finally, the Mentions section lists the brands, apps, and websites that the creator has referenced in their content.
This includes both organic mentions and paid sponsorships, helping you understand past collaborations and potential advertising opportunities.
Step 4: Use the AI-Powered Search
Not sure which filters to use? Try the AI-powered search to find highly specific influencers.
Enter a simple description of the kinds of influencers you’re looking for and click Create magic.
Influencer Analytics will come up with a customized list of creators based on your request.
You can revise your customized list of influencers by price, number of subscribers or views, and review other metrics such as quality score and last video upload date.
Select the influencers you find interesting, and create a thematic list by clicking Add to list at the bottom.
You can also click the Bookmark icon next to an influencer’s profile to save them directly.

- Client decisions and Remarks: This is where approvals, rejections, and notes on performance are recorded
- Performance metrics: This includes CPM trends, content views, and a financial breakdown (sourced from campaign data, influencer posts, and your budget details)
You can choose between the Influencers, Drafts, Content, and Report tabs.
You can also add your saved influencers and lists from the Lists tab.
To import influencers and content from a file, navigate to the Influencers or Content tabs, and click on the Import button to upload your file.
You can add data in the following file formats: .xls, .xlsx, .ods, and .csv.
