Game Explanation

This game is a parkour puzzle to escape the airship! Navigate through the Steampunk Airship by finding the various orbs, and explore the depths of the Airship to find a way out in an explosive manner. Good Luck!

What We Made

In the almost 3000 lines of typescript we wrote and 30 hours of work, and with every part of the project from the programming to the art being fully original from scratch, we made ...

  • a fully functional physics engine
  • an animation system
  • a tile map system
  • a scene rendering system
  • all of the music
  • all of the art
  • the sound effects

Challenges we faced

  1. The creation of the physics engine and the game engine were both extremely challenging and took time to fully flesh out
  2. Animations were challenging when dealing with smooth tile collisions, as there were some complications with rectangular collisions & hit-boxes
  3. Math related to smoothing the camera
  4. Time limiting the amount of features we could add in time.
  5. The dialogue system rendering properly

What we will add in the future

While we're done with the base game, we plan to expand more on it in the future. We plan on implementing:

  1. More refined sound effects
  2. Even fresher and better animations
  3. Sprite Selection
  4. Longer cut-scenes
  5. More complex movement
  6. Block placement & more player interaction with the map
