We analyzed 121 popular guest posting marketplaces and ranked the top 18. (BTW, we also built FatGrid, a tool that compares their backlink prices.)
If you’re not in the link-building world, chances are you’ve never heard of most companies on this list.
However, these platforms are where the global link-building business occurs.
I’ll explain how we ranked these marketplaces in detail in some time, but here’s our worldwide guest post marketplace ranking list:

Rating Methodology
We started with total traffic numbers to determine the biggest players.
But big is not necessarily good, right?
The largest marketplaces have millions of visits annually and host over 100k publishers, aka “link-donors”.
The offers vary a lot.
There is a CNET edition placement with a price tag above $50,000.
To unknown websites that accept guest posts for less than $10.
With every imaginable niche, popularity, and location in between.
But, a large amount of listings and traffic do not provide the complete picture.
Despite high traffic, publisher quality can be low, platforms may not provide enough data on publisher performance, unexpected pricing issues may arise, and customer support can be slow, unhelpful, or rude.
So, we researched the participants in detail and created a scoring system that included their transparency, data availability for users, and support quality.
We also sent a few messages to each rating participant requesting details about their business and asking typical customer support questions. Their replies to “support-type” messages were used to calculate the rating. Because communication quality matters.
In short, here are the factors we considered.
Factors considered in our rating:
The business metrics for rating participants are not publicly available. That’s why we rely on third-party data and real user experience.
Our rating for these guest-posting marketplaces factors in:
- Total traffic estimate. Because, in the end, it’s all about eyeballs.
- Founders and/or CEO reputation. Transparency and reputation matter. We want to know the people running these marketplaces.
- Organic traffic estimate. We strongly believe that platforms promising better brand and SEO performance to their clients should have a reasonable amount of search traffic themselves.
- Data and metrics about publisher performance. Sad but true—publisher quality is not necessarily important in this business. There’s a demand for low-quality and cheap links. However, in any case, the marketplace should provide the buyer with maximum transparency and data for better-informed decisions. So, we look for these metrics on the listed publisher sites:
- Site names are disclosed. While we respect those marketplaces not revealing site names for privacy and exclusivity, we seek platform transparency.
- Publisher’s total traffic. The most critical indicator.
- Publisher’s organic traffic. We believe this is the strongest indicator of authority in Google’s eyes.
- Traffic Trend. Flat, growing, or in decline. A useful metric to make informed decisions.
- Traffic by country. Buyers should be able to find publishers with the most traffic from their target countries.
- Domain Authority. The entire link-building market relies on (albeit outdated) domain authority metrics. The only reliable metric now is Semrush AS, with other metrics with varying reliability. Not showing any metric scores zero here.
- Support speed and quality. We all appreciate fast and helpful support and agree that useless and delayed responses are frustrating. We also look for the team’s reviews and their responses on other platforms.
Here is the summary datasheet you can access.
On our initial rating list, we also considered the number of website listings a ranking factor. But bigger is not necessarily better. So, we have retired this factor and no longer use it to rank marketplaces.
We also created a short review describing the rating leaders. You can check them in detail from our blog section or the links under each of these marketplace sections.
Here at Xamsor, we aren’t big fans of long texts. So, all platform reviews will focus on a straightforward use case: whether the platform user can quickly find a publisher offering actual domain authority for a reasonable price.
