3.0 Cultural can influence the Nation

 3.1 Health and medicine

       Traditional Asian concepts and practices in health and medicine have attracted greater
       acceptance and are more widely adopted by American doctors.

           a) Chinese medicine which is acupuncture
In the early 1970s the US medical did not believe the usefulness of
                       acupuncture. After they study the therapy system, it has proven the
                       efficacy of acupuncture especially for treatment of chronic pain.
            b) Herbals, massage, meditation and yoga from India
                       It is widely adopted by spas across America. They are adopted
                       meditation as a practice recommended for patients such as heart
                       disease and cancer.

    3.2. Religious trends

                 Many Asians Americans are also Muslim with ancestry from Pakistan,
                 Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia and China among others. Eight per
                 cent of Asian Americans are Muslim and they represent 33% of the
                 American Muslim population.
                 American Buddhist groups established and have built temple and taught
                 generations of new practitioners. Buddhist concepts and practices such as
                 mindfulness have penetrated mainstream culture.

4.0 Europe country, European Union and its culture

We choose Europe because, most of the Europe country share same history its meet the
definition of Nation. But only 27 of the country form European Union, the union is
established as to easy movement of people of Europe. Besides that is our concern about their
culture in the context of communications.

The Culture of Europe might better be described as a series of overlapping cultures of
Europe. Whether it is a question of West as opposed to East, Catholicism and Protestantism
as opposed to Eastern Orthodoxy, Christianity as opposed to Islam, many have claimed to
identify cultural faultiness across the continent.

         Non-verbal Communication (Hand Gesture )

In Greek, the five means number in others people, but its mean insulting for them, known as
“Moutza” but this gesture is not a problem in other Europe country, such as German and
Italy.
In Greece also the V sign is a symbol of insulting, in others country its means peace. Others
sign in Europe is:

                                 Europe= Two
                                 Britain, Australia, New
                                 Zealand= One
                                 USA= Waiter!
                                 Japan= An insult

5.0 Asian and its culture

The culture of Asia is human civilization in Asia. It features different kinds of cultural
heritage of many nationalities, societies, and ethnic groups in the region. They are Central
Asia, East Asia, South Asia (the "Indian subcontinent"), North Asia, West Asia and Southeast
Asia. Geographically, Asia is not a distinct continent; culturally, there has been little unity or
common history for many of the cultures and peoples of Asia.Some of country in Asia is:
Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, China, Indonesia and etc.

Most Asian like spicy food, and consume noodles and rice base.

      1. Language

Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and Singapore share some similar language, eg: Malay. And the
language is influences from their history, religious and neighbour country

Japan

Japan is one of the countries in Asia, the japan is well known for their culture. Some of them
is:
Japanese Tea Ceremony

The Japanese tea ceremony (cha-no-yu, chado, or sado) is a traditional ritual influenced by
Zen Buddhism in which powdered green tea, or matcha, is ceremonially prepared by a skilled
practitioner and served to a small group of guests in a tranquil setting. Usually Japanese
people having a tea as ice breaking or introduction with the client to having a business But in
Europe or American it’s such a waste of time for them, because they are directly say what
they want.

          Non-verbal Communication ( Hand Gesture )

Japan bow to show some respect, and its hand gesture olso different from Europe, eg: OK
sign for Europe means money to Japan and its mean something bad in
Brazil.

                                         Used when calling someone towards you, this gesture
                                         resembles a Western-style good-bye, often confusing
                                         foreigners. With a somewhat limp wrist, flap four
                                         fingers in the direction of the person you want to
                                         attract. Generally not .recommended for superiors, it
                                         is still considered preferable to yelling.

                                         *This gesture has the same meaning in Malaysia.

                                         In Europe, waving hand side by side
                                         means no, but in Japan it’s mean of
                                         something smelly.
6.0 Other’s hand gesture that can cause misunderstanding

                                                                       D
A.                               B.                           C.
     Europe and North Western countries= One; Britain, Australia, New
     America:= OK
                                 Excuse me!; As God is my Zealand, Malta= Insult!
     Mediterranean region, witness; No! (to children)

     Tunisia, France,                                         France=Peace

     Japan= Money/coins

D.
In most of Latin
America and West Africa, as
well
asGreece, Russia, Sardinia and
the south of Italy. Its means
“Middle Finger”
7.0 Issues

We focus on communication, which is gesture, issue arise because of misunderstanding about
something we do, for example, if we travel to Australia, me use V sign to show our peace, but
it may insult the citizen of the foreign and may get caught if we do the sign while the
president of the country make a speech. If the culture, in terms of communications not be
exposed, it will lessen the easy movement of peoples. People who travel might feel they are
not safe and afraid that they might insult peoples accidently, because there is no
understanding of culture in one and another’s

To overcome or avoid the issue:

       Learn about the culture using internet or others source.
       Be aware of our actions which may lead to unwanted situations.
       Understand others culture and not to think its means to insult.
       Media must expose the variety of culture

8.0 Conclusion

Nation is has no physical borders and it’s the different from country. Nation may refer people
all over the world. The culture of nations is shared from the history, the language and other
purpose that have the same ideology over the globe. Worlds today is different from before
due to the effect of globalization, the exposure of others culture in internet, the product of
foreign. But from our research, hand gesture or spontaneous act may be differs to other
Nations, Communication is being important role for doing business and to learn overs
culture, this is important to avoid misunderstanding among the nations. Even a innocence
hand gesture might lead us to troubles. The diversity of culture is something that we have to
learn, to understand to build a good network, and may lead a business ahead.
