It's time for a research spotlight! Today, we're highlighting the work of Kara Hunter and the Sukenik Lab at Syracuse University! Read below to learn what the lab has been working on: “Our lab studies the chemical principles governing how proteins interact with their surrounding environment, in the test tube and in cells. To do this, we use a combination of live-cell imaging, high-throughput methods, and computational modeling. We focus on environmental stress and the role of intrinsically disordered proteins in health and disease. The DeNovix instrument is used in yeast studies to measure viability upon desiccation, or the near absence of water.
